In the past week we have had many service call booking for paper jams. In most cases the jams were being caused by damp paper. We have had some rain recently in Brisbane, Gold Coast & The Sunshine Coast and with the rain comes moisture. Paper at the end of the day is just wood pulp and it absorbs moisture very quickly, when the damp paper goes through your printer or copier it gets heated up very quickly which causes the paper to curl up slightly which makes it harder to pass through all the rollers in your printer and voila, PAPER JAMS! You can do things to reduce paper jams. The best solution is to keep the paper stored and sealed in a dry place. You will notice that on most paper packaging it explains how to care for your paper, most people don't read these instructions but you will save money & time if you read and follow the instructions to reduce paper jams in your office printer or photocopier.

Over the past month we have had multiple service call requests because of ants inside clients printer or photocopier. This is a common problem especially at this time of year in South East Queensland. A common mistake is to spray the inside of the machine with a pest spray. When this happens the ants can die in the machine causing major problems if they are in hard to reach area's of your office printer. We offer a fix rate service charge on pick up and return printer repairs where ants are the problem. It can be time consuming so we recommend doing the work in our workshop to minimise the charges.
